Project: Lily’s Garden

Early on in the evolution of the Faery Folk media property, we felt the best direction to proceed in would be to pursue a television show in parallel with literary works. To that end, we wrote a script for a children’s pre-school series and filmed it as a concept piece. There were many directions we could have chosen to present our idea: from an amalgamation of other shows to illustrate what ours would be like, to an original vision from an original cast. The later was riskier, more costly and required a greater amount of project management… but its the direction we took.

The video needed to touch on an number of important points, from the story itself to show segments about the natural world.		As the subject matter is faeries, we had to shrink actors in to scenes. The project required two days of shooting and the help of numerous actors, a production crew, director, director of photography and a support crew.
Our good friend, Melora Hardin, most recently from the television show The Office, directed the actors on set.		The well-known musician, Dan Mackenzie, actor Michael Rodgers and even Matt Laborteaux of Little House on the Prairie fame joined in to make it a great experience with truly creative friends.
