Isuzu Web Enabled CD-R

Project: Isuzu “Future” Web Enabled CD-R

Role: Creative Director, Information Architecture

Isuzu needed to get prospective and current owners excited about the future of Isuzu. The designs for future cars and cross-over vehicles was progressive and needed to be promoted. The company wanted a digital solution that could be created now, but remain “fresh” as new drawings and concept vehicle assets became available.

As the direct and interactive marketing agency for Isuzu North America, we conceived of the concept for a CD-ROM that pulled information from both the internet and the CD-R. This satisfied the need for large video images that ran “locally” from the CD-R and upcoming images, text and announcements pulled from a remote server.

The concept was entirely my own and required that I sell it to both the Designory and Isuzu’s senior executives. Once they accepted the technical feasibility of the concept, we received the budget approval and began cranking. I led the core team of designers and programmers in an all out effort to prove to our client that we could create a digital product just as progressive as the vehicles we were promoting.

Conclusion: This was a really fun project. I enjoyed leading a team to execute on an idea I had conceived and watch it become a reality. The project also presented some technical challenges that were not too great, but just enough to gain some additionally knowledge. A nice bonus for me was that I got to do some more video editing… always makes things more fun! You can view a sample below from the project.
